Upper Ugashik Lake

Upper Ugashik Lake is a large freshwater lake located in southwest Alaska, United States. It is situated in the Bristol Bay Drainage, within the Lake and Peninsula Borough. The lake spans an area of around 189 square miles and has a maximum depth of approximately 200 feet. The lake is known for its world-class fishing, particularly for sockeye salmon, which migrate up the Ugashik River to spawn. It is also a popular destination for recreational activities such as boating, kayaking, and wildlife viewing. The surrounding area is home to moose, wolf, brown bear, and bald eagles.
